WBC Stimulation IV Treatment *

1. Conversation with patient to make sure whole situation is
understood.
- There will be three blood draws:
1st draw - just before stimulation treatment
2nd draw -24 hours later - close to exact; they report to
Lab
3rd draw - 48 hours later - close to exact; they report to
Lab
2. Arrange with laboratory early in this process for the first
blood draw to occur in I.V room. Blood goes back to lab for first
analysis.
3. As soon as first blood samples are withdrawn out of the
butterfly for injection, the stimulation is given in a slow push of
approximately 10 minutes. Infiltration must be guarded against.
Injection:
- 1.500 HCl: 5 cc
- Saline: 5 cc
* The amounts of the vitamins, minerals and other substances used in this IV therapy will vary according to each manufacturer's specific osmolarity.
